City of Laredo to Host “Bridge the Distance” 5K Run & 1K Walk During International Bridge Week

Laredo, Texas – The City of Laredo, in partnership with the Laredo Bridge System, invites the community to take part in the “Bridge the Distance” 5K Run and 1K Walk on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Tres Laredos Park as part of International Bridge Week, taking place from April 13-17.

This family-friendly event encourages health, wellness, and community engagement while highlighting Laredo’s role as a vital connection point for international trade and culture. Participants of all fitness levels and abilities are welcome.

Online registration is now open, and participants can sign up by scanning the QR code on the official event flyer or by visiting the registration link here. On-site registration will also be available on race day. Packet pickup will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at L&F Distributors, located at 410 Crossroads Loop, Laredo, TX 78045.

REGISTRATION FEES:
• Early Registration: $25 (March 16 – April 4)
• Regular Registration: $35 (April 5 – April 18)
• Race Day Registration: $45 (April 19)
• First Responders & City Employees: $20
• 1K Walk: $10

AWARDS:
Awards will be presented based on chip timing for overall and age group categories:
(14 & under), (15–19), (20–29), (30–39), (40–49), (50–59), (60+)

All finishers will receive a commemorative medal upon completion of the race.

Route maps for both the 5K Run and 1K Walk are attached for reference. Participants are encouraged to review the course layout prior to race day. The course will also be clearly marked, with staff available on-site to assist participants.
